Bowburn Youth Club has been granted funding from Bowburn Parish Council, which has allowed youth provision to continue in Bowburn, helping providing a vital source of support and education to our young people.

We hope that with this funding we can develop the centre into a hub for the young people of Bowburn and the surrounding villages.

Great day today at the fun day again this year ...........

Everything has been counted up and we have a total of £320.00 (minus costs), which is fantastic. We had the kitchen, tombola and raffle.

We have had so many generous people who have made cakes, donated prizes and given up their time to support us.  THANK YOU!

Joanne

PS We hope to see you all again next year.

Joanne Ridley & Tim £250.00 spent on Garden equipment.

Mac Williams £300.00 towards the kitchen redecoration.

We have had the whole building redecorated as an investment to enable us to hire the building out to other providers when not in use by the Youth Club to generate income.

Achievements so far in 2016

This year has seen the youth club go from strength to strength with the junior youth club providing a smooth transition for young people into senior sessions.

The community gym is proving to be a giant step towards our goal of breaking down the barriers between different groups within the community.

The fun day this year was a huge success which saw young people taking on responsible roles in the planning, organising and delivering on the day.

The building and outside gardens  have continued to be improved, which provides a safe, warm and welcoming  place for  young people to meet. The interior has been fully redecorated in neutral colours.

The Boxing Club is providing Young People an opportunity to take part in regular structured sports.

Successful funding has given the young people the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of centre based projects, off site visits and training opportunities, adequate resources have enable staff to deliver high quality youth work. The funding from the Parish Council has ensured that we have been able to continue to offer a full programme.

Partnership working is a high priority to ensure young people are given a wide range of opportunities and staff and young people have built up positive relationships with a wide range of partners.

We continue to work with young people to provide them with outcomes that prepare them for further opportunities throughout their lives.
